OK. First I get the picture I want on the screen. Then I press Shift-Apple-4. The cursor turns into a little crosshairs and I drag a box around the part of the picture I want. It gets saved to the desktop as Picture1 (or Picture2 etc.) Then I put the image in my post by clicking the little photo icon when I'm creating (or editing it)...
